Chilled packaging: protect your products from heat

Chilled packaging

Do you sell temperature-sensitive products such as foodstuffs or medicines? During these hot days, the slightest variation in temperature can render your products unusable. Fortunately, insulated packaging allows you to spend the summer in peace. Follow these three steps and prepare your temperature-sensitive products for safe and (most importantly) fresh shipping!

Step 1: Choose the right insulated packaging

The security of your sensitive products for transport begins with the choice of packaging: boxes, bags or bubble wrap. Their polystyrene or polyethylene padding reflects the cold in the package and keeps the inside cool. As a result, a constant temperature can be easily guaranteed for 48 hours.

Insulated boxes Pack your temperature-sensitive products in an insulated box and protect them against temperature fluctuations. At Britwrap, 3 models are available to offer you optimal protection for each product.

Wedging avoids direct contact with the product with the cold source.

Insulated bags

These bags and pouches have a strong insulation film inside and outside. You can choose between bags with an adhesive closure or a reinforced zip closure with studs. This allows you to reuse this chilled packaging, and you are assured of absolute impenetrability without temperature loss.

Chilled bubble wrap

The chilled bubble wrap is a versatile product: on the one hand, it can cover the inside of a box. But on the other hand, it can be used to wrap an entire product. This air cushion insulation film is composed of 3 layers. This way, you can be sure that your goods arrive at their destination in good condition.

Step 2: Protect your shipments

Cold packs

To keep your parcels cool during transport, adding cooling packs to the crate is preferable. The number of these elements required depends on the distance and, therefore, on your products' storage period.

Temperature indicators

Temperature indicators are other practical accessories. They immediately indicate whether the safety temperature inside the box has been respected during transport. Simply stick such an indicator on the outside of your product or inside your checkout. If it is too hot, the indicator will turn red.

Step 3: Communicate clearly with your customers

Before returning your parcels, it is best to stick the necessary warning labels with your checkout. This makes it much easier for the customer to know which instructions he must follow to store or handle your products correctly.

Perishable Shipping Labels

Surely you already know the labels with the message "perishable"? As soon as the customer sees this red label, he knows that his delivery will have to be stored fresh as soon as possible. The permanent adhesive layer of this label adheres perfectly to each package.

Positioning labels

Combining a temperature indicator with a warning label is best. If your products have exceeded a certain temperature level, the label will contain useful information and instructions on further handling of the products.
